Portia loves Bassanio a lots and thus her love makes her afraid to loose Bassanio if he fails the trial that has been set by her father so that Portia gets the rightly husband. She knows the rule that if Bassanio looses he is not allowed to talk to her and just simply leave the castle and so Postia will be loosing Bassanio forever. Hence she asks Bassanio to tarry a little before playing his fortune and spent more time with her
