The AC has low transmission loss than DC

Because AC has the capability to step up the voltage and step down the voltage easily using transformers. And it has alternative current so noise immunity is also more than the DC.

If you know the Thomas edison who working on DC generation power plants and he setups lot of power plants. But the serving range of these plants are less around only 4km radius only after 4km power loss is more considerably. After the invention of AC by tesla and he shows the advantages of ac sources above dc the transmission power loss over dc is very very less in ac. Then all world is accepted that and starts serving electricity in AC.

Hello,
because alternating current changes its direction on a fixed interval of time but Direct current flows in same direction .

hence while changing its direction ac loses some power .

Hope it helps you friend
Have a nice day.
