1 Answer. (i) Power sharing is desirable because it helps to reduce the possibility of conflict between social groups. Since social conflicts eventually lead to political instability, power sharing ensures the stability of the political order. (ii) Powers sharing is the very spirit of democracy.

Answer:Power sharing  is  desirable because  of  the  two reasons :-

(A) Prudential  reasons- Sometimes two or political parties may not be friendly with each other but the try to form an alliance  for a more practical reason,  to run the government smoothly. They try to resolve their internal conflicts in order to form the government. This is carefully thought out plan and wisely  taken.In Democracy  power sharing  is done prudentially.

Eg. Belgium's  decision  in power sharing between the  Dutch., French and German  is  done  prudentially  .

(B) Moral reason:- Power sharing is at the  root  of  the  Democracy. People  have  a right  to  be  consulted  on  how  they  want  to  be  governed. Democracy  is possible only  in an environment  where  the  citizen's opinion  matters.
