why power sharing is essential among different level of the government​

Power sharing is important because it reduces the conflict between the opposition. It helps in maintaining political stability. Power sharing is the very spirit of democracy. Power sharing reduces the conflicts between organs,diff levels ,diff political parties in the country.

Power sharing is important for democracy because of the following reasons-

★ Power sharing among the different organs of the Govt. (ie. HORIZONTAL DISTRIBUTION OF POWER)-

In this form of power sharing, power is assigned by the Constitution among different organs of the Govt. such as,

1) Legislature

2) Executive and

3) Judiciary

This type of distribution ensures separation of power among the organs at the same level, so that none of the organs can exercise unlimited powers.

★ Power sharing among Govts. at different levels (VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF POWER)-

In this form of power sharing, power is shared at different levels of the Govts.

The overall governing body is known as 'Union govt.' or 'Federal govt.' and govt. at the constituent units is known as State govt. The third or the lowest level govt.

Eg. Municipalities and Panchayats in India.

★ Power sharing among political parties, pressure groups and movements-

In a democracy, power is also shared among diff. political parties, pressure group and movements. Democracy provides people to freely elect their leader/rulers.

★ Power sharing among different social groups-

Ina democracy, especially, in multiethnic society, power is also shared among different social groups such as Religious and Linguistic group.

‘COMMUNITY GOVT. in Belgium is a good example of this arrangement.
