Answer:

When the surface area is less the mass stacks up on top. And same happens vice versa in large area.

Answer:

Understand this way.

if you step on a needle pointing upwards it will price your body right? And you stepped on a fevicol upwards it will not Peirce your skin.

So in needle the point shares a very small contact with your feet. As the area the middle is touching is very small hence it is a ble to pierce through your skin.

Why?

pressure is very high at the point of the needle when it comes in contact with your feet.

In case of fevicol. it has a flat and a larger area of contact with your feet and it doesn't Peirce.

why ?

again pressure is less as the area of fevicol is much greater and hence less pressure is applied on the feet.

Mathematically-

P = F/A

let's say you have a constant force of 10N.

P = 10/A

now let's take A = 5m

P = 10/5 = 2 pascal

Now let's decrease the area let's say A = 2

P = 10/2 = 5 Pascals.

Which is greater than two Pascals.

Hence greater the area less the pressure and lesser the area more the pressure.
