You can continue to put material in your solution until you see (ot may be you can not depends on in the material you're dissloving) excess matter. The solution above all the excess mater is called a saturated solution. But if you look at it as a whole, your solution is over saturated.

You can make your solution saturated or diluted again if you temper with the solutions temperature or the amount of water you put in your solution. Or mixing could be enough.
