why prism convert white light into seven color but rectangular glass slab is not??!!

No glass slab also disperse light into 7 colurs but the spectrum is not visible because the refracted wavelength emerge parallel to their incident direction .Also it happens in a very small period of time so we can't see it .

Prism has two refracting surfaces, bent at different angles, they aren't parallel to each other, so hence, light, entering a glass medium, and then entering back into air medium at different angles, will be split, due to different frequencies and different wavelengths or colors.

Whereas, in glass slab, both refracting surfaces are parallel, so light will not split into seven colors.

Anonymous: Even though, splitting happens in glass slab, as both the refracting surfaces are parallel while it comes back into air, it again merges into white light.
