Why prostitution is still illegal in india?

All though Indian is home to many red light areas and has a significant rate of people as prostitutes still it is considered as illegal because we have a thinking that prostitutes are always bad and are treated like any secondary human. Although it's a crime almost it is a rape only here the person himself is ready to get raped but still it is illegal because India is full of values and different mindsets which don't allow the prostitutes job as moral good
