Actually non flowering plants are called cryptogams

As pteridophytes doesn't bear flowers and seeds they are also called cryptogams

Plants are classified mainly into two groups and these are, cryptogams and phenerogams.
Phenerogams which have flowers and
Cryptogams which don't have flowers.
So, pteridophytes don't have flower, it counts in cryptogams.
