Why pure acetic acid called glacial acetic acid

Pure acetic acid is anhydrous and it is called glacial because it get freezes on a temperature just below room temperature which is 17.6 degree celcius

⭐ Acetic acid Contains very less amount of water or it contains water only 1% .

⭐Pure acetic acid or undiluted acetic acid is known as glacial acetic acid. This is a colourless liquid at room temperature(25⁰ C). But when the temperature is lowered to about 16.7⁰ C, then it solidifies and looks like glacier. That's why it is called glacial acetic acid.
It's chemical formula is same as the acetic acid, CH₃COOH. And it's IUPAC name is ethanoic acid.
