why pure gold is not used in ornaments

Pure gold are not used in the ornaments:

.Pure gold is 24 carat. It is the purest form of gold. At this stage the gold will be very soft. So it can't be used to make ornaments.


So to avoid this condition. Goldsmiths mix SILVER AND COPPER in a adequate proportion to make it somewhat hard to shape it as beautiful ornament

Because pure gold is very soft. We cannot give proper shape to pure gold. So we use alloy of silver and copper with gold to make an ornaments
