Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA is double stranded.
So, in one particular strand, the total number of Adenine is same as the number of Thymine while in both the strands, the total number of Guanine is same as the number of Cytosine.
So, it can be said that the number of purine and pyrimidine bases are present in the ratio of 1:1.
In ribonucleic acid or RNA, only a single strand is present, hence they have different numbers of purine and pyrimidine bases.
