Above Tg, thermoplastics become increasingly viscous and eventually melt. Decomposition occurs at sufficiently high temperatures. We can see that polyisoprene with a Tg of -75°C is soft or rubbery at roomtemperature, polyvinyl chloride or PVC has a Tg of 82°C and is rigid at roomtemperature.
