why r only chlorine and etc are only halogens........ tell me reason and also tell me what is the meaning of halogens...

Any of the elements Chlorine occupying group VIIA (17) of the periodic table. They are reactive non-metallic elements which form strongly acidic compounds with hydrogen from which simple salts can be made.
