covalent compounds are poor conductors of heat and electricity. they have low melting point and boiling point . the bonds between to molecules is weak they exist as solid liquid gases they are generally soluble in non polar solvents .

ionic compounds are good conductors of heat and electricity. the force of attraction between them is strong they have high melting and boiling point
