because when light disperse from raindrops and split into seven colours, all colours have diiferent wavelength and scatter at different angle

raminder1: nice answer
Smit007mistry: so why when they disperse from prism dont for arc or circle
Smit007mistry: y they go straight
Smit007mistry: janvi
Smit007mistry: ??
janvi321: because raindrops are circular

I am elaborating janvi's answer. actually it's true that light is straight because it and it follows principle of rectilinear propagation which is the property to travel in straight line but when this light passed through prism (the water vapours present in atmosphere act as prism) it gets divided into seven colours which are continuous in nature that means which forms of continuous spectra you might have studied it in chemistry so now these colours have different wavelengths and gets captured by different angles so when they are combined together the resultant direction of that Rainbow becomes bended and hence Rainbow is bended but light does not bent because it follows rectilinear propagation
