here's ur answer..
we all know that rayon is a synthetic fibre as it's man made.. but actually it's semi synthetic fibre. now, why it's called artificial silk??
it is called because it's treated with silk and wood pulp (cellulose a polymer obtained from wood by treating it with chemicals) and after it's obtained, it looks so similar to real silk. but it's not actual silk. so it's called artificial silk.

Fibre obtain by chemically treating wood pulp is called rayon or artificially silk. Rayon cannot be called a natural fibre as it is man made......
cheaper then silk and can be woven like silk fibre .
