Red light scatters the least amongst the constituent colors of white light. So, when you are looking at something which is red in color from a far distance, all the other colors of shorter wavelength like violet, blue, Indigo, etc. gets scattered. But red colour has very high wavelength so, it scatters less. Hence we saw the red colour from very far distance.
