why red soil is acidic in nature

It makes the nature of this red soil which has been produced due to its weathering is a bit a more acidic. They are acidic mainly due to the nature of the parent rocks. The alkali content is fair. They are poor in lime, magnesia,phosphates, nitrogen and humus.

red soil is acidic in nature as it has high iron content so not suitable also it lacks like magnesia and humus which are needed for the soil to improve fertility therefore not suited for cultivation
