Why red soil is not suitable for cultivation of cotton?

Red soil has low content of humus and has low amount of nutrients. It has least water holding capacity. It does not contain the minerals which is necessary for the crops to grow.

because red soil is rocky soil in rocky soil cotton is not produce cotton is produce in black soil which is mostly found in madhya pradesh , maharastra etc.,black soil is fertile and red soil is not fertile that's why red soil is not suitable for cultivation of cotton.
