redid reaction are called electron transfer as in redid reaction both oxidation and reduction takes place hence oxidation it looses electrons and in reduction it gains electrons so it is called electron transfer ...☺☺

                                      Answer:

Reduction is a gain of electrons, oxidation is a loss of electrons, and electron transfer reactions are also called redox reactions. Reduction is a gain of electrons. The added electrons "reduce" the oxidation state of the substance. Cu2+ ions gain two electrons, so they are reduced to Cu atoms.
