why reducing the quantity of salt in pickle can cause it to go bad soon?

Since pickle is an oil containing food, it may Rancid. That's why salts are added in pickle to avoid from Rancidity.

Pickle is a type a food which contains oil.
And in oil if we don't use salt it goes bad sooner. so reducing the quantity of salt in Pickle may destroy it !!!
