why reproduction is not counted on life process ?

Reproduction is a part of life process but it's not necessary because there is no harm caused to the body if the body does not reproduce whereas if any other life process does not take place such as respiration , transportation and so on then the body will not be able to survive.

Because its doesn't help the body to generate energy or any other progressive thing. However, it helps to maintain the contunity of the species.
