In a thick wire particles are less dense as compared to a thin wire or same length . therefore the electrons under the electric field will suffer less collision . so resistance decreases as area increases

umikabhandari2005: A piece of thin wire has higher resistance than a piece of thicker wire with a same length which means that it's harder for electric current to move through it.
