Resource planning is essential in India due to the following reasons:-
a) It helps to identify the various resources present in different regions of the country.
b) It helps in the conservation of various non-renewable resources.
c) It helps in reducing wastage of resources.
d) India has enormous diversity in the availability of resources. There are many regions that are rich in a certain type of resource but are deficient in some other resources.
e) India is the 2nd most populous country so there's a need for proper resource planning so that we can conserve them for the future.
