What is Retreating monsoon??

Retreating monsoon is a repeating monsoon.In the month of October -November the rain cycle again retreats from south to the skies of North India.This whole process known as Retreating monsoon.

Retreating monsoon is important for our country because it brings rainfall to every corner/parts of the country as it is a second phase of cycle of rainfall.The places which do not get sufficient rainfall during first phase of rainfall e.g in the month of july-august they receives rainfall through retreating monsoon.Retreating monsoon brings rainfall to those areas where uneven distribution of rainfall.

Know :

some places receives less rainfall :

• Karnataka
• Gujarat
• Maharashtra (some parts)

Places receives heavy rainfall:

• Western ghats approx (200-400cm of rainfall)
• Eastern parts states like Assam,Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
