Rice is a staple food in India because it is grown abundantly in all the regions.  It is an excellent source of carbohydrates and easily digestible.  India experiences tropical climate which is suitable for rice cultivation.  The temperatures in India are extremely high during the summers. Rice helps us to cool body temperature.
