Step-by-step explanation:

Now let us assume you are right i.e. sum of two sides of triangle will be equal to hypotenuse..

Now, let us take an example of a right triangles with sides 3, 4 and 5.

So, Hypotenuse = 5cm, Base = 3cm and Height = 4cm

Now add the both base and height. It will give 3 + 4 = 7

But 7 ≠ 5

=>  This contradicts our assumption that sum of two sides of triangle will be equal to hypotenuse...

=> It cannot be true...

Now let us take squares of the sides and add them...

=>  Base² + Height² = 4² + 3² = 16 + 9 = 25

And Hypotenuse² = 5² = 25

Since 25 = 25, we can easily say that sum of squares of two sides of a triangle will be equal to square of hypotenuse

Hope you understand what I'm trying to tell...

Mark as brainiest if so...

Answer:

its because the right side( the hypotenuse is the longest side and its side is squared for squared not for perimeter)

consider this the equation

Leg(1)=3

Leg(2)=4

we can say that 3+4=7 according to your rquation but that will be the perimeter not squared

the hypitenuse consists of squared

3²+4²=9+16=25

this formula will not work if you did it according to h = s + s

hypotenuse is can be anything but only requires that its square is eq. to the other 2 sides and always bigger than other sides

according to u if we did so 5 = 4 + x

find x

you would just say 1cm

but if you draw a triangle with following measurement you will realise this is not possible

hope u got ur doubt clear
