why RIP is used for the person who is dead ? it is good to use for the person who is alive??

RIP means rest in peace...it is used for person who leaves us..to make their soul happy in the heaven

RIP means rest in peace... it means that we are wishing for the dead person to have a peaceful afterlife... It is not appropriate to use it for an alive person at all.
