Rutherford model of atom was rejected as if any thing revolves around anything then the object which revolves loses its energy and gain acceleration and get fall down towards which is it being revolving. As same happens in atom when electrons revolves around nucleus of atom then the electrons must loose energy and gain acceleration and fall down toward nucleus. This was the drawback of Rutherford model of the atom.

Hope it helps u
