rolling friction is less than sliding friction because in rolling friction the things move towards by Rolling and sliding friction the thing move towards by sliding so that is why rolling friction is less than sliding friction

the rolling friction is less than sliding friction because in Rolling friction the area of contact between the two surfaces of body is much less than in the case of sliding ...
in sliding botb the bodies are connected in large area thus ....
we know that the friction is directly proportional to apparent area in contact ,....thus the the rolling friction is less than the sliding friction. .....
