the experiment of Rutherford is alpha rays scattering exp. . He use only gold foil because it can fold easily and if he use another metal then it can't be fold and stop alpha rays.
silver is also ductile why he didnt chose that
it can't be fold as much gold can be ability to be fold and stop alpha rays
