In winter salt is spread on the ice-sheet of Antarctica to remove the slipperiness of the ice because, in winter it becomes dangerously slippery. On the other hand it makes easier to walk and safe from the fetal or tragic accidents.

Annesha672: how much had you expected?
Annesha672: Check whether now you are satisfied or not-----
Annesha672: Icy sidewalks and roadways can lead to disasters. During winter the slick surface of ice can cause a variety of problems, from a simple slip to a major car accident. To prevent the property damage, injury or death, it's important to be de-iced or salt over the ice. Slanting roads work by altering the freezing point of water.Water with higher salt content has a lower freezing point than water with less salinity.
Annesha672: And this is the reason, why salt is spread on ice in Antarctica.H
Annesha672: Sorry, Antarctica
Annesha672: Hope, it may help you and thanks for telling.
