why sand doesn't dissolve in water though it's particles are smaller than sugar??​

BECAUSE THERE IS SPACE IN BETWEEN WATER PARTICLES AS WATER IS LIQUID AND WE KNOW THAT SOLID<LIQUID<GAS. THE HIGHEST SPACE IS IN GAS.

actually any thing to get dissolved there are many factor and in the case of salts they dissolve in the water due to a little less strong lattice energy , less covalent character but not all salt dissolve like LiF so when we put sand the salts or mineral salts do dissolve in water and yet the molecules of Sio2 and many more to large lattice energy ie larger molecule therfore more the polarization(Fazans rule) so it does not get dissolved fully in water but water dissolve some amount of it due to its high dielectric constant…
