Hello friend!
Saprophytes such as moss and fungi lack chlorophyll. So, they are unable to synthesize their own food like other plants. They are heterotrophs i.e. they depend on dead and decaying plant matter for their growth and survival. They derive their nutrition from green plants(autotrophs) who can make their own food by the process of photosynthesis

Answer:

They are not like green plants as they lack chlorophyll and cannot make food by photosynthesis. Saprotrophs do not have mouth similar to animals neither have chlorophyll similar to leaves. Saprotrophs feed on dead & decaying organisms.
