why Satyagraha cannot be regarded as a method of a as passive resistance

Gandhi distinguishes Satyagraha from passive resistance. While passive resistance does not carry love for the opponent, satyagraha is based on love and it abandons any form of hatred. Any individual whether weak or strong can resort to satyagraha when he feels injustice is being done to him.
