why sc does not exist as divalant?

Answer:

Electronic configuration of Sc is 3p^63d^14s^2. It can loose 2 electrons from outermost shell but it is not stable. So it lose 3 electrons to get noble gas configuration. Therefore Sc does not exist as divalant.
