Due to the presence of Salt (Sodium Chloride) that is come from the rocks around the sea water and the rain that carry Carbon dioxide that is taken from the surrounding air.

This Carbon dioxide makes the rain water acidic due to Carbonic Acid, Which is from by the mixing of Water and Carbon Dioxide.

Thus, Seawater becomes Salty.

Heyaa...!

Sea or Ocean water is Saline/salty because :-

•Content of NaCl(sodium chloride) i.e salt is more in it.

•Salinity is more.

•Rivers also have 2percent NaCl in them.

Hope it helps ^_^
