Why seats were reserved for SCs,STs by the constitutionmakers?

backward classes like scheduled castes and scheduled tribes were denied opportunities for many years. and for the development the government took away their livelihood and living places, so to bring them to other settled civil societies , it was necessary to give reservations so that they can be equal to others...
