✒ why second ionisation energy is greater than first ionisation energy?

•Ionization energy is basically the energy required to remove an electron from an atom in isolated gaseous state .
•So , obviously the removal of second electron from the atom will consume more energy as compared to energy consumed by the first electron because it is more forcefully attached to atom/nucleus.
•Therefore, the second ionization energy is greater than the first ionization energy .

Hey brainly user

.Here is your answer

In Netural atom, number of electrons is equal to the number of protons. In unipositive ion number of protons is greater than that of the electrons.

» So the attractions of nucleus over the Valency electrons is more in unipositive ion

» Hence more energy is required to remove an electron from the uni positive ions than the Netural atom
