Why secondary memory called as non volatile memory?

The memory in which the information is stored when power is on but information quickly gets lost of there is power cut is called as non-volatile memory and Secondary memory loses the data stored if there is power cut if we don't save before power cut . So secondary memory called as non volatile memory .
