Answer:

The one reason why secularism is important in democratic nations because it defend people not to make any law that discriminate different faith. ... It is also make democracy very fragile and make tension between majority and minority religion very uncomfortable.

Secularism and democracy go hand in hand as:-

1. It enables people of different religions to live in civility with respect for all faiths.

2. It is a part of democracy, which grants equal rights.

3. It safe guards democracy by limiting the powers of the majority and

4. It protects the equal rights of minorities to citizens.

. A democratic government is based on the idea that all citizens are equal and are guaranteed same rights under the law.

Secular does not include religion in a political system. It gives people a free reign from all the religious rules and teaching. A secular government is neutral in the matters of religion. It supports neither religion nor irreligion. It does not combine politics with religion; any decision made is not under the influence of religion. People are free to be individuals and are not looked upon regarding their religion or religious beliefs.

So basically in my point of view secularism is a small portion of the big pound of democracy, and democracy needs secularism to run properly.

Explanation:

Dear friends secularism is very important for India because if India becomes religious state it will stop us from sharing new thoughts and reading about different religions and we’ll loose our analysing capability and scientific outlook and politics will be hijacked by clergical class which is very dangerous for any nation because clergy will damage the nation by their fanatical actions and spreading hate against each other. So it is very important to keep religion separate from state.
