Selaginella is a species of desert plant and is known as a "resurrection plant". It is renowned for its ability to survive almost complete dryness.
In deserts, it rolls into a ball when it has severe lack of water.
When the wet conditions set in, it unrolls itself out , i.e. it 'Resurrects' itself from dead-like state.
