it's because of the following reasons...

the materials whose resistivity is 10^5 to 10^10

more than that of metals are called semi conductors..

they are 10^15 to 10 ^16 less than that of insulators ..

semi conductors are used in integrated circuits , transistors ,electronic gadjets..

it's also beacuse of it's resistivity

the materials which has more resistivity will conduct low amount of current whereas the good conductors means metals which are good conductors of electricity have high conductivity and low resistivity..
