Not all the living beings reproduce sexually, so it cannot be compulsory for all. Organisms reproduce according to thier body design and complexity in structure.

For example plants are immobile so they cannot reproduce sexually. thier mode of reproduction is asexual and they use natural phenomena like wind or water to transfer pollen grain to the female part( not always).

Now, reproduction is a need and not a compulsory thing. Without reproduction organisms will be over with time. As there is no one is comming next.

With reproduction organisms move thier genetic information to the next generations and this plays a vital role in evolution of that perticular organism.
