why shadow is longest during morning and evening

Size of shadow depends on how far the light source is. It also depends on it’s elevation (or how much higher or lower than the object it is).

During morning and evenings, the Sun is low on the horizon, in between it slowly moves up till around noon and then starts moving back towards the horizon on the other side.

Low angle means longer shadow, High angle means shorter shadow.
So, it forms longer shadow in morning and evening..

it is because the angle between sun and earth is closer to 0 or 180 degree which provide a longer shadow
