Sher Shah Suri is referred to as a Philanthropist at heart because after taking over the Mughal Kingdom, he carried out vast projects in India to to help the poor.
He is known to spend a lot of his own personal money for charitable works.
He also founded a 'Charity Kitchen' which was funded by 500 tolas of Gold every day and anyone who came to this kitchen was fed.

Sher Shah Siri has been referred philanthropist at heart because Sher Shah was generous. He gave specific orders that anyone that anyone in need of food should be fed at king's kitchen. He cunstucted an excellent network of roads in his empire. Grand Trunk(GT) road was one such highway cunstucted and was called sarak-i-azam or highway. Sher Shah reduced custom duties. He was also known for providing impartial judicial system.
