why Shimla is much colder than Ludhiana?

shimla we know it is a hill station and its distance from equator is also much higher. plzz mark as best

Shimla is cooler than Ludhiana as because Shimal has a greater altitude than Ludhiana.As altitude increases temperature decreases and thus Shimla is much cooler than Ludhiana.
