Why should a country develope its own technology??about 80 words...pls don't spam...

Technology development has a wide range of application from developing disease resistant crops to development of nuclear energy. It encourages employment. It also has military purpose; for example during Kargil war India was denied the US GPS as a result india was forced to make its own GPS system called GAGAN.
