The huge one overhead is the fundamental rotor. It goes about as both wing, to give lift, and as propeller, to create forward movement.
Acc. to newton's third law of movement is: for each activity, there is an equivalent and inverse response. So , as the enormous goliath fan turns in a single bearing, torque will make the fuselage of the helicopter turn the other way. Henceforth the little propeller at the back. It basically pushes the tail of the helicopter against the torque of the primary rotor .

- If the helicopter have single propeller, the torque exerted on the helicopter fuselage in the direction opposite to the propeller.
- Thus a small propeller is added at rear to provide anti-torque movement.
- Hence, opposite torques from the two propellers cancel each other out.
